Bed Bath & Beyond Store Closings: Can You Still Use 20% Coupons?
If you haven’t seen the full list of Bed Bath & Beyond stores closing then you might wonder whether you will still be able to use those 20% off coupons (or my favorite, the $5 off $15 or $10 off $30 Bed Bath & Beyond coupons).
Is your store on the list? In their restructuring plan, Bed Bath and Beyond plans to close more than 200 stores in the next two years.
So, for now, the answer is yes. However, when liquidation sales begin for stores closing, Bed Bath and Beyond is expected to stop accepting its beloved coupons at going-out-of-business sales. In other words, at stores that are permanently closing, you probably will not be able to use coupons.
As of May, the company had 1,478 stores, including 955 Bed Bath & Beyond stores nationwide and in Canada. In addition, 262 stores under the names of World Market, Cost Plus World Market or Cost Plus, 127 buybuy Baby stores, 81 stores under the names Christmas Tree Shops, Christmas Tree Shops andThat! or andThat!, and 53 stores under the names Harmon, Harmon Face Values or Face Values.
Our hearts go out to the employees affected by these shutdowns. And, to the consumers who rely on these stores.
COVID Retail Apocalypse
This news comes on the heels ofretail giants such as J.C. Penney declared bankruptcy and plans to close 200 stores, And, Victoria’s Secret and Bath & Body Works announced they were closing 300 stores. Gordmans bankruptcy and store closings. Tuesday Morning stores declare bankruptcy. And, of course, Pier One Imports closing all of their stores. Shortly after Neiman Marcus, another department store giant, declared Chapter 11 bankruptcy amid the coronavirus pandemic. And, most recently The Children’s Place announced they would close 300 stores. and 24-Hour fitness closes doors to nearly half of its clubs.
