Costco Free Samples Are Back – But WAY Different!
A month ago, we told you that Costco planned to bring back its famous free samples. True to their word, they’re back! But, they look a lot different.
After ending free samples in Costco stores in March due to Coronavirus COVID-19 concerns, they’re finally resuming. While most stores were closed, Costco was one of the few deemed essential and remained open during the pandemic. Now, they’re planning to start offering free sample stations at their warehouse stores again.
Costco Free Samples Are Back
Announced during a company earnings call last month, Costco shared its plans to reinstate free food samples for customers starting in mid-June — with some changes.
While the company remained tight-lipped about what those changes in their free samples would be, Costco did say they would take precautions to keep shoppers safe.
What’s Changed with Costco Free Samples After Quarantine
Costco’s free samples in stores are back. But, it’s no longer the free food smorgasbord it once was.
In other words, free samples are now prepackaged items which are kept behind plexiglass shields, according to Bloomberg. They also said that Costco’s samplings have returned to as many as 30 Costco locations.
You may not realize, Costco doesn’t provide those free samples themselves. In other words, Club Demonstration Services (CDS), is the vendor who handles sampling for Costco. They announced that clubs in 16 states are in the first phase of the return. Additionally, demos will be limited for participating clubs each day.
