Do you use canned tuna at your house? There is a settlement right now that you might be a part of.
If you have purchased Trader Joe’s Canned Tuna between Jan. 5, 2012, and March 2, 2020, you may be a part of this settlement.
This lawsuit alleges that Trader Joe’s tuna products in 5 oz cans, were underfilled.
The products included in this settlement are:
5 oz. Trader Joe’s Albacore Tuna in Water Salt Added; 5 oz. Trader Joe’s Albacore Tuna in Water Half Salt; 5 oz. Trader Joe’s Albacore Tuna in Water No Salt Added; 5 oz. Trader Joe’s Albacore Tuna in Olive Oil Salt Added; 5 oz. Trader Joe’s Skipjack Tuna in Water With Sea Salt; and 5 oz. Trader Joe’s Yellowfin Tuna in Olive Oil Solid Light.
The Settlement provides that Trader Joe’s, on behalf of the supplier of the Trader Joe’s Tuna Products, will pay $1.3 million in cash to a Settlement Fund. You may submit a claim for a cash payment of $29. The claim amount may be subject to pro-rata dilution if the total amount of claims exceeds the available Settlement funds.
You do not need a receipt or other proof of purchase to submit a claim. You can claim one or more cans, but the amount you will receive is $29 irregardless of how many you purchased.
The deadline to file your claim form either online or postmarked if mailed is July 1, 2020
