Pier 1 Imports Closing More Stores!
If you love Pier One, then you’re not going to like this news! I love going to Pier 1 and just browsing the unique items they have. From worldly decor to home goods, Pier 1 has a special flavor, unlike other stores. They have been in business for 58 years!
It was stated earlier this year, that Pier 1 was closing up to 450 stores in the US and Canada. Pier 1 filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy due to low sales. However, since the COVID 19 hindered them in the ability to secure a buyer and allowing them to wind down, Pier 1 decided upon closing all of their retail stores. Some stores will reopen to begin clearance sales around May 22, 2020.
The retailer, based in ability to secure such a buyer and requiring us to wind downFort Worth, Texas, announced in a news release Tuesday that it was seeking bankruptcy court approval to begin an “orderly wind-down” when stores are able to reopen “following the government-mandated closures during the COVID-19 pandemic.”
You can save some money with the clearance sales they will have. Be certain to look for the sales and deals that will be available to consumers during the store closures.
