This case was filed in the United States District Court for the Central District of California, Case No. 3:19-cv-00954-CAB-BGS, asserting putative class claims arising under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) 15 U.S.C. 1692, et seq.
There are some 31,849 class members in total, according to the lawsuit.
What is a class action lawsuit settlement?
A class action lawsuit is one with multiple plaintiffs. In other words, there are more than one person being represented by the lawsuit. Oftentimes a plaintiff or plaintiffs file the case on behalf of many people who were affected by aren’t involved in the actual suit.
