What Happened to Recyclebank? Did Recycle Bank Close Down
If you’ve been around for a while, then you’ve probably heard us talk about Recyclebank. It’s a website that encourages recycling by rewarding members with discounts, coupons and free stuff. Many of our fans collect Recyclebank reward points, and we do too. So, we wanted to let you know what we know. Recyclebank is a website where you can earn rewards by doing small tasks and learning about how to live a more green lifestyle. In turn, you could spend your rewards points on things like free magazine subscriptions, and even gym memberships, and Goodwill thrift store coupons.
Did Recyclebank close down?
Update: As of this afternoon, the website is back up and running. However, it appeared to be shut down this morning. Therefore, we highly recommend using your points if you’ve put it off for any reason. It’s not certain what’s going on, or what the future will hold for Recycle bank.
The Recyclebank Website is Down?
Imagine our surprise earlier today, when the Recyclebank website returned a daunting, ‘server not found’ error. According to commenters on Facebook, it’s been down at least since yesterday. One Facebook fan, Steven S., summarized what was happening with Recyclebank’s website by posting a comment: “I had a feeling the website will shut down without any sort of warning….”
So, what’s going on with Recyclebank? Their Facebook page update on May 3rd says that they’ve teamed up with Zero Waste, and won’t be answering questions on social media. Vague, huh?
We did reach out to Recyclebank via email, but didn’t immediately receive a response. We’ll certainly update this when we do. Of course, we hope this is not the end of Recyclebank!
Meanwhile, read our Recyclebank review to learn more about what they’re all about.
